The role within the Customer Service & E-Commerce team offers a dynamic and engaging opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences. This position involves assisting customers during the checkout process by performing all cash register functions, bagging groceries, and operating the customer service desk. The Customer Service & E-Commerce team member plays an integral role in maintaining attractive and efficient customer service areas while upholding the highest standards of service and company values. This is an entry-level position that offers extensive training and growth opportunities, a competitive hourly wage ranging from $22.00 to $29.73 depending on experience, and comprehensive benefits including paid time off, store discounts, and wellness support.

In this role, team members are expected to embody Whole Foods Market’s core principles by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to all customers and fellow team members. Beyond basic cashier duties, team members may also support other functions within the Customer Service realm such as shopper assistance. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and food safety regulations as well as company policies. The position requires a strong work ethic, the ability to remain organized and efficient in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine passion for natural foods and sustainability. The Customer Service & E-Commerce team member must be prepared to contribute to a positive team atmosphere and participate actively in company programs and initiatives.

This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour shift, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in varying temperatures including wet or cold environments. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as capability with tools such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks, is necessary. New team members who complete their first 90 days with successful performance may be eligible for hourly wage increases and advancement opportunities. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing or walking for 6 to 8 hours per shift
  • Ability to perform single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to use tools such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks
  • Must be appropriately groomed and ready to work
  • No prior retail experience required

Job Duties

  • Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • Upheld government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • Performs all cash register functions including proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • Bags groceries and assists at the customer service desk
  • Maintains clean and stocked Front End areas including own register
  • Assists in training new cashier and cashier assistant team members
  • Controls customer flow to reduce waiting time
  • Participates proactively in company programs
  • Follows and ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Performs assigned opening, mid, and closing duties
  • Supports other duties as assigned
