The Customer Service & E-Commerce Team Member role at Whole Foods Market is an essential position that supports the overall customer experience by providing courteous, efficient service during the checkout process and handling various cashier duties. This role requires team members to be proactive in upholding the Whole Foods Market Customer Service vision, ensuring that customer interactions are positive and that store operations comply with all health and safety regulations. These team members are responsible for tasks such as assisting customers at the register, managing cash transactions, bagging groceries, maintaining attractive service displays, and supporting e-commerce activities. The position is designed to foster an environment of teamwork, encouraging members to assist with shopper-related tasks and support the overall goals of the department.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing and walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • Ability to use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Check out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • Uphold government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • Follow proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • Use proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • Clean and stock Front End areas, including own register
  • Follow all cash handling procedures meeting regional cashier variance policy
  • Assist with training of new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members
  • Assist supervisor in controlling customer flow and reducing customer waiting time
  • Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs promptly
  • Maximize sales potential by properly prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products
  • Comply with health and sanitation regulations including Food Safety
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties to ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Report safety hazards and violations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store or company leadership
  • Complete shopper training and perform shopper tasks within the Customer Service Team as assigned
