Job Description
Runnings is a well-established retail company renowned for providing customers with a wide range of high-quality merchandise tailored to meet various needs. As a prominent player in the retail industry, Runnings is committed to delivering excellent customer experiences through knowledgeable staff and a welcoming store environment. The company prides itself on fostering a collaborative workplace culture that values employee contributions and encourages professional growth. With multiple locations and a focus on community engagement, Runnings has built a strong reputation for service excellence and product variety in the retail market.
The role of Cashier at Runnings is integral to maintaining the high standards of customer service the company is known for. This position is vital in ensuring customers receive friendly, efficient, and accurate service as they enter and exit the store. Cashiers are the first point of contact for customers and play a key role in shaping their shopping experience by providing assistance with customer service questions, processing transactions, and addressing returns or pricing inquiries. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to perform precise cash handling, and the capacity to manage duties in a fast-paced retail environment.
This is a part-time or full-time position with variable hours, including evenings until 9pm and rotating weekend and holiday coverage. The position offers a competitive pay range of $14.00 to $16.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Candidates must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends as part of their schedule. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, the Cashier position does not hold supervisory authority but significantly contributes to store operations and customer satisfaction.
Cashiers will use the KCX cash register system for customer transactions, handle telephone inquiries professionally, and ensure accurate pricing and stocking of merchandise as directed by store management. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining knowledge of store policies on customer returns and ensuring compliance with all cash handling procedures. Given the retail environment, the role also demands physical stamina to stand for long periods, handle frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, and perform bending and twisting regularly. This contributes to the dynamic nature of the role and supports the operational needs of the store.
Runnings is dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace and offers reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to succeed in this role. This commitment is backed by equal opportunity employment policies, making Runnings a respectful and supportive employer for diverse candidates. Overall, the Cashier position at Runnings is ideal for individuals who are passionate about customer service, enjoy interacting with people, and thrive in a lively retail setting. The job provides a meaningful and engaging retail experience, with opportunities to develop valuable skills relevant to the retail and customer service industries.
