This high-energy, quick-service restaurant is designed to offer guests a focused, quality menu of freshly made-to-order tacos served on handmade tortillas, complemented by chips, guacamole, and fresh salsas. The role of Cashier / Drink Server at Tacos El Terry is pivotal to delivering a seamless guest experience for both carryout and dine-in customers. This position demands professionalism, efficiency, and friendliness, handling payment transactions, taking orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction at all touchpoints. As a Cashier / Drink Server, the successful candidate will greet guests with warmth and sincerity, handle orders in-person, online, and via phone, and operate the POS and various payment systems with accuracy. Job Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age at time of hire
- able to work a variety of shifts including weekends
- able to communicate effectively in English
- able to stand and walk for extended periods
- able to lift up to 50 pounds
- demonstrate courteous and friendly attitude
- comply with all company policies and procedures
- availability for interviews starting week of 9/8/26
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous cash handling or customer service experience preferred
- strong communication skills
- ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- basic math skills for processing payments
- familiarity with POS systems
- ability to stand and walk during entire shifts
- strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols a plus
Job Duties
- Provide efficient, friendly guest service for dine-in and carryout guests
- process guests' payments accurately and balance sales/receipts
- answer telephones and take orders and messages
- ensure guest satisfaction and anticipate guest needs
- greet guests warmly and sincerely
- use tact and good judgement with guest challenges
- respond knowledgeably to questions about the menu
- use sales techniques to promote current specials
- follow all steps of service
- understand and follow food allergy and special order procedures
- maintain proficiency with POS and payment systems
- comply with safety and sanitation guidelines
- sell and accurately account for gift cards and merchandise
- work various shifts including weekends
- communicate effectively and multitask calmly under pressure
- move and lift items up to 50 pounds
- stand and walk for entire shifts safely
