This role is that of a Member Order Packer, a key position within Costco's frontline operations at the warehouse club. The Member Order Packer is responsible for efficiently packing member orders, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining a high standard of service throughout the checkout process. The position involves greeting members, assisting them with loading orders onto the conveyor belt, understanding their packing preferences, and providing answers to any questions they may have regarding promotions or products. The Member Order Packer also plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the front-end area of the warehouse, performing clean-up duties, managing cart retrieval, and ensuring all safety and security procedures are followed.
