The retail associate will play a vital part in creating an inviting store experience by supporting all facets of store operations, including sales transactions, store maintenance, merchandise stocking, and food preparation.

Daily responsibilities entail operating the POS system accurately to manage cash and other payment types for various transactions such as credit cards, manufacturer coupons, vendor checks, alcohol, tobacco, lottery, and fast-food sales while strictly adhering to company policies. The associate will also be responsible for checking identification for regulated products and actively participating in all sales promotions and campaigns. Suggestive selling techniques are encouraged to build lasting customer relationships and contribute to achieving sales goals.

Beyond customer interactions, the role involves rigorous attention to store cleanliness and safety, ensuring that the premises are free of litter and spills, equipment is sanitized and operational, and restrooms are regularly spot-checked and restocked. Employees are also tasked with sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning fuel delivery areas including pumps, and organizing backroom supplies. Regular inspections of perishable products for freshness and proper rotation are essential to maintain high-quality merchandise standards.

Food service duties include preparation of hot food items, brewing fresh coffee on a timed schedule, and maintaining condiment bars. The role extends to deep cleaning tasks especially during night shifts, which may involve cleaning drains, restrooms, various machines (such as coffee pots, creamer machines, and food warmers), and ensuring readiness for morning rush hours through diligent preparation.

This position demands physical stamina, requiring the ability to stand or walk for entire shifts, lift up to 50 pounds, perform bending, stooping, kneeling, and use hand-eye coordination effectively. Flexibility to work all shifts including coverage at different stores within the district when needed is imperative.
