Goodwill-West Texas is a reputable nonprofit organization focused on providing job training, employment placement services, and other community-based programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families throughout West Texas. Part of a larger network of Goodwill organizations, Goodwill-West Texas operates retail stores that serve a dual purpose; these stores provide affordable goods to customers while generating critical revenue that supports its mission of helping those in need achieve greater independence. The organization prioritizes community involvement, sustainability, and excellent customer service in every aspect of its operations, ensuring that donation programs and retail sales contributors benefit the communities they serve. Working at Goodwill-West Texas offers employees the opportunity to be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to making a positive social impact in the region.

The Sales Associate role at Goodwill-West Texas is central to providing an outstanding customer experience and supporting the organization’s mission through retail sales operations. As a Sales Associate, your responsibilities will include maintaining and promoting excellent customer service throughout the sales floor and cash wrap, which means warmly greeting and assisting customers, answering questions, and ensuring everyone has a positive interaction. You will also be responsible for accurately processing all sales transactions, including handling cash, discounts, voids, and tax exemptions, while maintaining strict adherence to money-handling and security protocols to protect the store’s assets. Merchandising duties like floor moves, product placement, and upkeep of signage are vital aspects of the role, as well as general housekeeping to maintain an inviting retail environment. Additionally, you will play an active role in donation processing, receiving donated items, monitoring stock, replenishing merchandise, and adhering to loss prevention policies to minimize shrinkage. The position requires someone who can stand and walk for long hours, safely lift and carry items, and work varied shifts based on business needs. This employment opportunity offers a chance to develop valuable retail skills, work in a team-oriented environment, and contribute directly to community betterment through your service and dedication.
