Bluecrew is a reputable staffing platform that connects workers with short-term and long-term job opportunities in various industries, emphasizing flexible work arrangements and careful compliance with labor regulations. The type of company involved is primarily a staffing agency and event service provider that partners with large events and venues to ensure smooth event operation and guest satisfaction.
This specific role is tied directly to FIFA World Cup games scheduled on specific dates including June 19, June 22, June 25, and July 1. The employment type for this position is temporary and event-specific, requiring availability on the noted dates to participate as event staff or food service personnel during these high-profile sporting matches. Given the nature of these events, the role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside diverse teams and interact with an international audience.
The job role primarily involves cashiering duties such as making cash transactions accurately, verifying cash drawers, giving correct change, counting cash receipts, and completing cash reports thoroughly. Aside from cashier responsibilities, the role may also include general food service tasks such as cooking, preparing, serving, or transporting food items, maintaining sanitation standards in dining and preparation areas, and cleaning and sanitizing kitchen utensils and equipment.
Workers in this role should be comfortable with physical demands such as being on their feet for extended periods, engaging in repetitive motions like crouching and bending, and working in a busy, often hectic environment. Compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines is essential for any food-related duties; this includes maintaining personal hygiene standards such as keeping hair up, fingernails trimmed, and possibly covering facial hair. A specific dress code may be required, with a minimum expectation of wearing closed-toe shoes and pants for safety and professionalism.
Candidates must successfully complete a mandatory background check emailed separately before commencing work for any FIFA World Cup games. The role is inclusive and follows fair chance hiring policies with respect to applicants with arrest or conviction records, in accordance with both the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance and California Fair Chance Act, supporting equitable employment opportunities.
This is not just a job but an immersive experience to be part of a globally significant event, requiring dedication to excellent customer service, attention to detail in handling cash and food safety, stamina for physical work, and a professional attitude towards responsibilities.
