Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Irving, Texas, Michaels operates over 1,300 stores across 49 states and Canada, as well as online platforms Michaels.com and Michaels.ca. The company is not only known for its extensive selection of arts and crafts products but also for its commitment to supporting creators, hobbyists, and artists through quality products, inspiring services, and community engagement. Michaels also owns Artistree, a manufacturer specializing in custom and specialty framing merchandise, further enhancing its ability to serve customers with personalized creative solutions.

Michaels takes pride in cultivating an inclusive and supportive environment for both customers and team members, promoting diversity, innovation, and collaboration. The company focuses on providing its team members with robust benefits and opportunities for growth, showcasing its commitment to employee wellbeing with offerings such as health insurance, paid time off, tuition assistance, and generous employee discounts. By adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements and embracing the values of respect, positivity, and professionalism, Michaels has established itself as an employer of choice for individuals passionate about creativity and customer service.

The Store position based in South Gate, California, encompasses a dynamic role centered around customer engagement, merchandise management, and operational excellence. This role offers a total base pay range of $17.25 to $20.30 per hour and provides either full-time or part-time employment opportunities, making it accessible to a diverse pool of applicants with varying availability.

As a Store Team Member at Michaels, you will be the face of the brand, responsible for delivering friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable customer service. Your primary focus will be to assist customers during their shopping experience by helping them locate products, providing solutions tailored to their creative needs, and ensuring a fast and friendly checkout process. You will be expected to engage customers in the rewards program and private label credit cards enrollment, educating them about the benefits and the Voice of Customer survey to enhance the overall shopping experience.

Beyond customer service, the role involves active participation in store operations, including truck unloading, merchandising duties, stock replenishment, and maintaining the overall store recovery standards in alignment with Michaels' brand promises. You will also support omni-channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS), integrating technology and service to meet modern retail expectations.

Moreover, you will be entrusted with executing cash handling procedures, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and company policies, and contributing to shrink and safety programs. The role demands a high level of physical activity, including extended periods of standing, lifting heavy boxes, climbing ladders to access high shelves, and performing stockroom duties.

This position at Michaels is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and who are committed to providing exceptional service while maintaining operational efficiency. Cross-training in custom framing sales and production is also part of the role, offering team members an opportunity to develop specialized skills and contribute further to the business.

Michaels promotes a positive work culture where respect, acceptance, and optimism are core values, even in challenging situations. The company encourages applicants who require reasonable accommodations to engage in the interactive process to ensure a supportive workspace.

Joining Michaels means becoming part of a brand that is committed to creativity, community, and inclusion, with a comprehensive support system to help you succeed and grow within the company.
