The coordinator is charged with leading the event processes and logistics that underpin the success of GVSU's career fairs and recruitment activities. This involves the comprehensive planning and coordination of two large-scale career fairs each year, ensuring every detail from employer registrations to payment processing and communication is handled efficiently and effectively. Beyond these major events, the role also requires collaboration with Career Center staff to oversee specialized industry fairs and networking opportunities tailored to both students and employers. Managing employer visits to campus is a key component of the role, which includes organizing on-campus interviews, employer tabling events, and networking functions that foster meaningful interactions between employers and university stakeholders. The coordinator is also responsible for creating and maintaining an annual calendar of recruitment activities and career workshops, guaranteeing that event details are submitted on time, and logistical needs like room reservations, audiovisual equipment, and catering are met to provide seamless event experiences. An essential part of the position is engaging both existing and prospective employers, encouraging their active participation in targeted career events and recruitment initiatives that align with the university's strategic goals. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Candidates must be capable of working independently while also coordinating team efforts to achieve collective success. Strong communication skills and experience with event planning, marketing, and records management are vital for excellence in this position. Embracing technological tools, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and customer relationship management systems, is integral to managing the workflow and data related to employer engagement and event logistics. Grand Valley State University invites passionate, detail-oriented professionals who are committed to advancing career services and employer relations to apply for this impactful role.
