Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • successful completion of health screenings including drug test (excluding marijuana) and tuberculosis test
  • physical evaluation and background check where required
  • compliance with COVID-19 and influenza vaccination mandates as applicable
  • ability to sign and understand the Driver job description if operating a Sunrise vehicle
  • adherence to all Sunrise Senior Living policies and regulatory standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED accepted as per state regulations
  • CPR and First Aid certification as required by state regulations
  • previous experience working with seniors preferred
  • ability to serve and care for seniors with empathy and respect
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • ability to make decisions in the best interest of residents
  • commitment to team collaboration and engagement
  • ability to remain calm and handle multiple priorities
  • good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Review, read, notate, and initial the Daily Log to document and learn pertinent information about residents
  • participate in the development and monthly updates of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs)
  • review designated assignments
  • provide care for a designated group of residents during the shift and physically check on them
  • observe, report, and document symptoms and condition changes such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, diet, and activity participation
  • attend daily Cross Over meetings
  • notify supervisor and resident care director of increased resident care needs
  • respond promptly to security system and call bells
  • greet guests, family members, residents, and team members
  • assist with continence management and proper disposal of related products
  • communicate with families and serve as a resource
  • help residents maintain independence, safety, and dignity
  • assist and encourage residents with activities of daily living and life enrichment
  • maintain a warm and calm environment
  • follow established safety regulations and standard care precautions
  • maintain and clean resident rooms and common areas
  • serve meals and assist in dining room operations
  • observe and document dining habit changes
  • promote safe food handling
  • participate in reminiscence neighborhood activities including life skills and social events
  • support team goals and attend regular meetings and trainings
  • comply with infection control and safety standards
  • perform other assigned duties
