We are currently seeking a full-time Captain to join our highly esteemed team at Monsieur Dior, our fine dining restaurant located in Beverly Hills, California. This role is a tipped position with a base pay of $17.87 per hour, excluding potential tipped earnings, reflecting an exciting opportunity for candidates passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences. As a Captain, you will be the face of our restaurant, responsible for providing outstanding service while making every guest feel appreciated and valued. Your role is pivotal in creating lasting impressions through attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous service, all while working in an upscale dining atmosphere at one of the most sought-after locations.

As a Captain, your responsibilities will include greeting and attending to guests' needs, clearly communicating the menu and restaurant specials, and answering questions to ensure complete guest satisfaction. You will serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, strictly adhering to all alcohol service policies and procedures. Your duties will also involve accurately entering orders into the point-of-sale system, processing payments, and ensuring that every guest receives their check with professionalism and care. Collaborating closely with servers, kitchen, and bar staff, you will ensure fluid communication and smooth operation throughout each shift.

In addition to daily service tasks, you will be expected to perform opening and closing duties, complete cleaning and side work assignments, and maintain all workspaces and equipment to the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization. This attention to detail is essential to uphold the boutique and luxurious experience that Monsieur Dior guests expect.

This position requires a high level of physical stamina, as you must be able to lift up to 35 pounds, stand for extended periods, and move around the restaurant including walking up stairs as needed. Visual and auditory awareness are crucial to efficiently take orders and interact with guests and staff. While no formal high school diploma or GED is required, experience in cash handling, credit card processing, and working as a server in a high-volume environment is highly beneficial.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift 35 lbs, walk including walking up stairs, stand, and bend for long periods
  • Visual awareness and hearing sufficient to take orders and prepare checks

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in cash handling and credit card processing
  • Beneficial if you have one year's experience as a server in a high-volume environment and experience with a point-of-sale system in a service or hospitality environment
  • No high school diploma or GED required

Job Duties

  • Greet and attend to guests' needs, provide menus and clearly communicate restaurant specials, answering menu questions, and collecting food and beverage orders
  • Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, adhering to all alcohol service policies and procedures
  • Accurately enter orders into the point-of-sale system and process payments, as well as prepare and deliver the check to guests
  • Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen and bar staff
