Job Description
The Dual Front Desk Manager position is a pivotal role within a distinguished dual-branded hotel property situated in the heart of downtown Chicago. The property itself is a National Historic Landmark with a rich history, formerly serving as the headquarters of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. This beautifully preserved landmark features two distinct but interconnected hotel brands: a 135-room Hilton Garden Inn and a 215-room Canopy by Hilton, collectively offering 350 rooms and suites to guests. The hotels' prime location across from Willis Tower provides guests with convenient access to Chicago's bustling business and entertainment districts, making it an ideal destination for both leisure and corporate travelers.
The hotel property is undergoing exciting development and enhancements, including the addition of a new 16th floor restaurant/lounge space created by modifying and expanding the existing 15th floor, as well as the renovation and upgrade of seven elevators, which ensures guests enjoy an enhanced and modern experience. Amenities such as spacious lobbies, state-of-the-art conference rooms, and other guest services on the first floor elevate the guest experience, positioning the hotels as premier destinations in the downtown area.
The role of the Dual Front Desk Manager encompasses overseeing the front office operations at both the Hilton Garden Inn and Canopy by Hilton properties. This management-level position demands an individual who can combine attentiveness and warmth with efficiency to deliver outstanding guest service from check-in through check-out. The manager is responsible not only for fostering a welcoming and courteous atmosphere but also for maximizing room revenue and occupancy by ensuring smooth, effective front desk operations.
The Dual Front Desk Manager supervises at least three full-time associates or their equivalents, takes on administrative, executive, and professional responsibilities comprising more than half of the working hours, and uses significant discretion and independent judgment in decision-making. Working hours often extend to cover all job responsibilities, with overtime applicable for OEM associates. Success in this role means expertly balancing team leadership, guest satisfaction, and operational goals, making this a dynamic, multifaceted position suited to a skilled hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced, historical hotel environment.
