Job Description

Our establishment is a distinguished hotel situated conveniently off I-77 in the Arrowood Business Park area, offering easy access to major attractions such as Carowinds theme park, Microsoft, Spectrum, and AT&T, as well as sports events featuring the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Hornets. This well-appointed hotel specializes in spacious suites featuring fully equipped kitchens that provide the perfect retreat for families on vacation or business travelers seeking the comforts of home. Guests enjoy a variety of amenities including a pool with a gazebo area for grilling, a well-equipped Candlewood Gym, complimentary washers and dryers, a fully stocked Candlewood Cupboard with breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner options, free Wi-Fi Internet, a Business Center, and a Lending Locker with household items and board games.

We are currently seeking an Assistant General Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is designed for a hospitality professional ready to take on a leadership position where they can make a significant impact every day. As the Assistant General Manager, you will act as the right-hand to the General Manager, stepping into the lead role during their absence. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing multiple hotel departments, driving profitability, managing costs, and leading your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This management position is overtime eligible, with overtime calculated accordingly.

The ideal candidate is a confident leader and an effective problem solver who excels in communication and values high standards of service. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a collaborative environment, recruiting and training guest services staff, and ensuring all team members are engaged and growing through continuous development programs. Strong financial acumen is necessary, as is proficiency with Windows Operating Systems for reporting and management purposes. Additionally, you will set the example for professional appearance and grooming, maintaining company standards to reflect the quality of our hotel.

Job Requirements

  • At least five years of progressive hotel experience in Rooms or Food and Beverage
  • Four-year degree with 2-3 years of related experience as an alternative
  • Two-year degree with 3-4 years of related experience as an alternative
  • Supervisory background required
  • Ability to stay calm and objective under pressure
  • Must hold or obtain certifications such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid
  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple departments simultaneously

Job Qualifications
