Genuine Foods is recognized as a growing social enterprise that leverages food as a tool to improve lives and build community connections. The company emphasizes fresh, scratch-made meals combined with unparalleled customer service and enrichment programs that go beyond the plate to positively influence the community and foster long-lasting relationships with clients and partners. Genuine Foods' core mission is to transform the way food services operate in educational settings and workplaces, ensuring both quality and meaningful impact are upheld across all meals they produce and serve.
The Catering/Retail Manager plays a pivotal role within Genuine Foods, managing the operational, culinary, and leadership aspects at a Higher Education location specifically focusing on catering and retail food service. This is a leadership role that works closely with the Food Service Director (FSD) and oversees the food service team to ensure excellent food quality and customer satisfaction. The manager acts as the main liaison for coordinating and executing catering events, ensuring that logistics, communication, and event delivery meet the highest standards. A key focus is maintaining Genuine Foods’ culinary excellence and hospitality values while supporting a positive campus atmosphere. This role requires someone who thrives in a team-oriented environment and is driven by a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, culinary quality, and effective event management.
The Catering/Retail Manager also acts as an ambassador for Genuine Foods, fostering and growing relationships with campus partners and clients. They support team development through performance evaluations, succession planning, and training, aiming to cultivate strong leadership within the operation. Compliance with USDA and other regulatory standards related to food safety and quality assurance is essential in this role, as well as continuous improvement through auditing and quality checks. Genuine Foods values inclusion, positivity, professionalism, flexibility, and resilience, and these traits are highly sought in the ideal candidate. The company is committed to offering a supportive, fun, and respectful workplace where every team member is valued.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a purpose-driven company that integrates food with community building and personal wellness. Genuine Foods also provides competitive benefits such as bonus potential, paid time off, holiday pay, medical, vision and dental insurance, and a 401K plan. The company upholds strong values including trustworthiness, personal accountability, a people-first mindset, and transparency in all aspects of its operations. Genuine Foods is an equal opportunity employer that maintains a discrimination-free workplace committed to diversity and inclusivity across all levels of employment.
