Job Description

Momentum River Expeditions is a renowned outdoor adventure company specializing in creating unforgettable experiences along the Kern River in Southern California. Known for its dedication to safety, sustainability, and exceptional customer service, the company offers a unique combination of thrilling rafting trips and luxurious camping experiences. Its flagship glamping basecamp provides guests with an extraordinary opportunity to connect with nature without sacrificing comfort. Nestled amid natural rocks and trees in a stunning high desert setting, the camp features canvas tents that remain set up throughout the summer, allowing guests to immerse themselves fully in the beautiful surrounding wilderness. Momentum River Expeditions prides itself on blending adventure with hospitality, ensuring that every aspect of the guests' journey is thoughtfully curated and executed with care.

We are currently hiring Safari Camp Hosts to join our dynamic team at the Kern River glamping basecamp. This is a seasonal, immediate-start position perfect for energetic, detail-oriented individuals who are passionate about outdoor living and exceptional guest experiences. The role is centered around providing warm, welcoming hospitality to guests as they arrive by boat to spend a night at the camp during our two day/one night rafting trips. As a Safari Camp Host, you will be responsible for preparing the guest tents—setting up beds, cleaning, and personalizing accommodations with thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers. You will also ensure the camp environment is tidy, inviting, and comfortable throughout the guests' stay.

The position uniquely combines physical activity with meaningful social interactions and some solo time in a beautiful outdoor setting. You will assist with opening and closing camp duties, help prepare and serve hors d'oeuvres, a gourmet dinner, and breakfast alongside river guides, and maintain the overall cleanliness and functionality of the camp facilities. No prior cooking experience is necessary, but a willingness to learn and assist with food service is important. This role demands a hardworking, high-energy individual with excellent customer service skills, a love for the outdoors, and the stamina to work in a rugged environment that may require lifting heavy items and spending multiple nights camping. Housing is available in the nearby Kernville area for eligible candidates. This opportunity is ideal for those who thrive on a blend of hands-on work, socializing, and peaceful nature experiences, contributing to a memorable adventure for all guests.
