The ability to operate institutional equipment, understand food service regulations, and communicate effectively in English are crucial. Spanish language skills are considered an advantage but not mandatory. Job Duties
- Provide students with a well-balanced and nutritious meal
- manage the preparation and delivery of quality meals through standardized recipes and menu instructions
- ensure compliance with high safety and sanitation standards to protect staff and students
- ensure the food service program meets or exceeds all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- adhere to meal service accountability requirements within district guidelines
- prepare and submit requisitions for food and supplies according to menus and delivery schedules
- resolve internal issues and communicate unresolved matters to central staff
- requisition small equipment and cleaning supplies and report equipment repairs promptly
- supervise cafeteria staff including interviewing, training, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, and problem solving
- maintain complete records for program accountability including deliveries, cash receipts, and meals served
- follow and enforce district and departmental policies and procedures
- perform all other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor, principal, and department heads
