Job Duties

  • Provide students with a well-balanced and nutritious meal
  • Manage the preparation and delivery of quality meals for all food through the use of standardized recipes and instructions on the menus to students and staff
  • Ensure that high safety and sanitation standards are complied with by staff to ensure the health and safety of both staff and students
  • Ensure that food service program meets or exceeds federal, state, local laws and regulations
  • Ensure the requirements in the area of meal service accountability are adhered to within district guidelines
  • Prepare and submit requisitions for food and supplies according to menus and delivery schedules to meet the daily requirements of the assigned cafeteria
  • Resolve internal issues and communicate issues that cannot be handled at local level to central staff
  • Requisition small equipment, cleaning supplies and promptly reports needed equipment repairs to central office
  • Supervise the work activities of the cafeteria including interviewing and training employees
  • planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees
  • addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Maintain complete records for program accountability including deliveries, cash receipts and meals served
  • follow and enforce district and departmental policies and procedures
  • Perform all other job related duties as assigned by supervisor, principal and all department heads
