The Cafeteria Supervisor role at Rice Elementary, located at 2425 Pine Street in Dallas, Texas, offers a full-time daytime position with a minimum salary of $38,223. This role is integral to ensuring the delivery of nutritious, well-balanced meals to students, supporting their physical health and academic success. The supervisor will be responsible for managing all aspects of the cafeteria operations, including meal preparation, staff supervision, inventory management, and adherence to rigorous safety and sanitation standards. This position requires a proactive leader who can maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing food service programs and who can maintain accurate records for program accountability. The supervisor will also coordinate with central staff to resolve issues beyond the local scope and ensure that the food service meets or exceeds all legal and nutritional requirements.   • ability to communicate in English by speaking, reading and writing
  • ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Provide students with a well-balanced and nutritious meal
  • manage the preparation and delivery of quality meals using standardized recipes and menu instructions
  • ensure compliance with high safety and sanitation standards for staff and student health
  • maintain food service program adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • ensure meal service accountability according to district guidelines
  • prepare and submit requisitions for food and supplies based on menus and schedules
  • resolve internal cafeteria issues and communicate unresolved matters to central staff
  • requisition small equipment and cleaning supplies and report needed repairs to central office
  • supervise cafeteria staff including interviewing, training, task planning, performance appraisal, rewarding, disciplining, complaint resolution
  • maintain complete program records including deliveries, cash receipts, and meals served while enforcing district policies
  • perform other related duties assigned by supervisors and department heads
