The Cafeteria Grill Cook role at the Marine Biological Laboratory is a full-time position offering a competitive pay range of $18 to $22 per hour. This role is dynamic and essential within Sodexo’s food service team, focusing on preparing, grilling, and presenting a variety of nutritious food items for multiple meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. As a Grill Cook, you will play a vital part in reducing food waste while delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons. Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are available with varying days of work, including some weekends and holidays, providing flexibility and variety in scheduling.
This position is ideal for team-oriented individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for food preparation and safety. Previous experience in food service is beneficial but not required, making it accessible for entry-level candidates eager to develop their culinary skills. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0 to 2 years of related experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts including mornings afternoons evenings weekends and holidays
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills

Job Duties
- Accurately and efficiently prepare portion grill and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast lunch dinner and special/catered events
- Read and measure/mix ingredients according to recipe(s)
- Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station fryer and other kitchen equipment
- Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
