This position involves preparing food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. Responsibilities include preparing food consistently following recipe cards, handling production and portion standards, and ensuring that food is ready based on expected demand without excessive preparation. Food safety is paramount, involving proper dating and rotation of food containers and maintaining perishables at correct temperatures. Associates are expected to check inventory pars for the shift, manage necessary preparation and freezer pulls, note out-of-stock items, and assist in stocking buffets. Additionally, food waste control and adherence to standard operating procedures regarding food cost management are vital aspects of this role.

Candidates for this role will benefit from a background in food service, particularly with experience in kitchens maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene. Physically, the job demands the ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds, as well as regular standing and occasional bending and climbing. The environment can be challenging, with exposure to temperature extremes from freezing conditions to high-heat cooking lines. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary to follow instructions and coordinate with team members. Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • Minimum one-year food service or related work experience
  • Ability to lift heavy food cases and equipment up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to tolerate working in temperature extremes from -10 to over 100 degrees
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift for extended periods
  • Ability to hear equipment timers and communicate effectively
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • Minimum one-year food service or related work experience
  • Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures
  • Ability to perform non-repetitive analytical work
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
