Job Requirements

  • be at least 20 years old
  • have at least one year of cooking experience in environments with diverse entrees and cooking methods
  • have or obtain Food Safety Professionals certification within 90 days
  • have a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle for Orlando positions
  • be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • be able to read, write, and solve math problems
  • pass the Basic Office Skills Test before starting
  • be able to stand for extended periods
  • be able to bend, stoop, and twist
  • work weekends, holidays, and extended periods
  • demonstrate teamwork and commitment to Publix’s mission

Job Qualifications

  • have knowledge of cooking principles
  • have at least one year of cooking experience in a varied environment such as a restaurant or culinary school
  • possess Food Safety Professionals certification or obtain it within 90 days
  • be able to read, write, and solve math problems
  • have a valid driver’s license if working in Orlando
  • demonstrate ability to work well with others and as part of a team
  • show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
