Job Description

Daily Provisions is a vibrant collection of neighborhood cafes that originated in 2017 from the esteemed kitchen of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Cafe in New York City. Known for blending the comfort of all-day cafes with the excellence of restaurant roots, Daily Provisions has become a beloved institution among New Yorkers. The brand extends across multiple locations in New York, Jersey City, Boston, and Washington, D.C., offering a welcoming environment where guests can enjoy a familiar yet elevated menu. The menu features signature items such as crullers, all-day breakfast sandwiches with perfectly runny yolks, freshly brewed coffee, and a variety of teas. Throughout the day, patrons can delight in chef-driven salads, made-to-order sandwiches, seasonal sides, and comforting classic dinner dishes including their famous Roast Chicken.

As a Cafe Manager at Daily Provisions, you will play a pivotal role within a growing team driven by a passion for excellence and community. The role is based on providing leadership and support to both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) teams while working closely alongside the General Manager. This position also involves coordinating with managers across other Daily Provisions locations to maintain consistent, exemplary service standards in culinary offerings, coffee, and beverage programs. The Cafe Manager is expected to foster a positive work environment conducive to both employee growth and exceptional guest experiences.

This full-time role offers an annual salary starting at $70,000, complemented by eligibility for performance-based bonuses that reflect your experience and impact within the company. Job Requirements

  • 2+ years management experience in a similar environment
  • bachelor's degree or certification in hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job (preferred, not required)
  • excellent verbal & written communication
  • understanding of microsoft office applications (excel, word, outlook etc.)
  • nyc dohmh food protection certificate holder
  • english fluency and spanish preferred

Job Duties

  • cultivate a culture of enlightened hospitality for all stakeholders that supports our business objectives and growth
  • exhibit expert knowledge of the beverage and kitchen stations
  • be a champion of enlightened hospitality to our guests for in store and digital orders, ensuring that the experience leaves them raving both during and after their visit or order
  • maintain excellence and cleanliness of the store, ensuring that appropriate physical inventory is always available to employees and guests and that all staff is properly acquainted with appropriate cgs as it pertains to the cycle of service
  • continuously provide support to all foh and boh staff and actively participate in the cycle of service as needed
  • remain current and compliant with the correct hr practices and policies, holding employees accountable to all standards and practices, evaluating and/or following disciplinary procedure when necessary
  • ensure that the payroll process is completed accurately, on time and according to business/accounting procedures
  • ensure dol/health department compliance as it pertains to the operation
  • provides feedback and guidance with excellence and hospitality in mind, ensuring that all team members have a pathway for growth and development
  • consistently looks for internal and external opportunities to build our growing team
  • perform additional responsibilities as needed and other duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational success
