Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of food and beverage or cafe experience
- At least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role
- Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer and POS skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Food Protection Manager certification preferred
- Alcohol service certification if required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or a related field preferred
- 2-3+ years of food and beverage or cafe experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred
- Experience in high-volume food service, cafe, coffee shop, or quick-service restaurant operations preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to lead by example and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Food Handler Certification required (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
- Food Protection Manager certification preferred
- Alcohol service certification, if required by state or venue
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent guest interaction
Job Duties
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the cafe, ensuring efficient and effective service
- Lead, coach, and motivate cafe team members, including cashiers, baristas, food service attendants, and support staff
- Provide exceptional customer service by resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and consistency
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations
- Assist with scheduling, training, onboarding, and performance coaching of cafe staff
- Oversee opening, closing, and shift change procedures
- Monitor labor costs and staffing levels to meet business demands
- Perform cash handling functions, including register reconciliation and deposits as assigned
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels by monitoring product usage and communicating ordering needs
- Ensure the cafe is clean, organized, fully stocked, and visually appealing throughout each shift
- Support the preparation and execution of catering orders or special events as needed
- Collaborate with culinary and management teams to improve operational efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and service standards
- Complete daily operational reports and communicate shift updates to management
- Perform other duties as assigned
