The Barista position at Nossa Familia Coffee offers an extraordinary opportunity to be part of a company that not only crafts exquisite coffee but also prioritizes meaningful work and community impact. This is an hourly, non-exempt role with variable weekly hours typically ranging between 15 and 20, and wages starting at $17.05 per hour with a step increase after successful completion of initial training, usually within the first 30 working days. Working hours mostly range from 4 to 6 hours per shift, with a flexible schedule that requires availability 7 days a week to accommodate the bustling cafe operations.

As a Barista, you are more than just a coffee maker; you are a brand ambassador who embodies Nossa Familia’s core values by producing outstanding coffee beverages and delivering unparalleled customer service. Your responsibilities will include creating the perfect espresso extraction, expertly texturing milk, and crafting beautiful latte art that wows customers. You will be knowledgeable or eager to learn about specialty coffee, its origins, flavors, and brewing techniques, enabling you to educate and engage with patrons authentically and enthusiastically. Reliability, punctuality, and task diligence are essential qualities, as is the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently, including accurately processing transactions and cash handling. The physical demands of the role include standing for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and working behind the counter in seasonal temperature variations from hot summers to cold winters.
