Job Description
Sam's Club, a leading membership-only warehouse club, is renowned for providing quality products at exceptional values to its members. As a subsidiary of Walmart Inc., Sam's Club focuses on bringing both innovative and value-driven solutions to a diverse range of customers. Operating in numerous locations across the United States, Sam's Club offers a dynamic work environment that values teamwork, member service, and personal growth. The company is committed to creating a safe and productive work environment, with strict policies such as maintaining a drug-free workplace and upholding standards of ethics and integrity.
This position is for an associate role located at the Sacramento, CA location (8250 Power Inn Rd). The hourly wage for this opportunity ranges from $19.00 to $27.00, accompanied by potential annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional premiums may also be awarded depending on specific work circumstances, schedules, or facility needs.
The role focuses on being an integral team member within the prepared food merchandising segment, combining expertise in food preparation, product knowledge, and digital proficiency. The associate is responsible for maintaining updated knowledge of product specifications, collaborating across teams, educating fellow associates on tools and systems, and adapting flexibly to meet business needs. They prepare food items according to specifications, plan productions including seasonal adjustments, adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation standards, manage inventory effectively, and handle equipment operation and maintenance.
The associate leverages digital tools to drive sales and enhance the shopping experience, using handheld technology to optimize business decisions such as production planning, merchandise ordering, and quality assurance. They also play a critical role in member service, engaging with customers by acknowledging their presence, identifying needs, and assisting in purchasing decisions or issue resolution.
Moreover, this position encourages leadership and ownership of responsibilities by driving area performance, stocking and rotating merchandise to ensure freshness and compliance with quality standards, and eliminating waste. Associates are encouraged to act as brand ambassadors, fostering a respectful and supportive team environment, assisting with training and development, and collaboratively overcoming operational obstacles.
Sam's Club offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and growth of its associates. These benefits include health coverage options like medical, vision, and dental insurance; financial benefits such as a 401(k) plan, stock purchase opportunities, and company-paid life insurance; and paid time off options including PTO, parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave. Additional benefits include short-term and long-term disability protections, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, and access to Live Better U, a company-sponsored education program that covers tuition and fees for degrees and certifications. These offerings emphasize Sam's Club's commitment to fostering a happier mind, body, and wallet for its employees.
At its core, this role is well suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, adaptable, and passionate about delivering excellent service while adhering to established food safety and operational standards. Candidates will thrive in a collaborative environment that values continuous learning, teamwork, and member satisfaction.
