This opportunity is available in multiple locations including Quincy, Andover, Boston, Worcester, New Bedford in Massachusetts, as well as Cranston, Rhode Island. The Assistant Controller will act as a key member of the client’s accounting services team, delivering strategic financial leadership and guidance.
As an Assistant Controller at CLA, you will hold significant responsibilities such as performing controller functions, managing tasks for assigned clients, and serving as a trusted consultant and advisor on best accounting and financial practices. You will utilize your project management skills to oversee multiple clients simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met efficiently and effectively. Another core duty is to prepare and analyze client financial statements, offering insightful recommendations that support organizational success. The role further involves fostering growth opportunities for clients and CLA’s communities, while also supporting the professional development of oneself and others by attending industry-leading events and training sessions.
Candidates will remain well-versed in clients’ organizational policies and procedures, federal and state compliance requirements, and current accounting standards to maintain a high level of service excellence. Compensation for this role ranges from $95,000 to $155,000 annually in Massachusetts, reflecting the importance CLA places on offering competitive wages and investing in employee growth. The firm considers factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge when determining pay within the range. CLA also prioritizes the wellness of its employees, providing comprehensive benefits designed to support physical, financial, social, and emotional well-being, including health, dental, vision, and 401k options.
By joining CLA as an Assistant Controller, you will become part of a leading firm that values collaboration, diversity, and career advancement while engaging in meaningful work that impacts nonprofit organizations and communities positively. This position offers both the professional challenge and the rewarding experience of contributing to the nonprofit sector’s financial health and sustainability.
