Job Description
Our client is a busy executive couple who spends approximately six months each year in the greater Palm Springs area. They maintain a dynamic and luxurious lifestyle that requires specialized support to create space and structure in their daily lives. As a result, they have created a unique position tailored to an experienced and highly capable household manager. This role is designed to provide integral assistance with managing their home, lifestyle, and personal affairs. The position offers flexibility in terms of hours, with options to work full-time, or part-time at around 30 hours per week, either year-round or for eight months annually. The client is open to accommodating a work schedule that complements the candidate's needs, making this a versatile opportunity for candidates in various life stages. Whether you are considering a second chapter living in the desert or are willing to relocate, this role offers an attractive opportunity to collaborate with affluent clients in a refined environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in upscale settings such as fine homes, private clubs, 5-star hotels, yachts, fine dining establishments, or managing high-end properties. Such experience will be invaluable in meeting the high standards and expectations of this household. Friends and family would describe you as highly organized, intelligent, quick to understand new concepts, with immaculate housekeeping skills. You take pride in your work, enjoy caring for animals, and possess a low-key, discreet demeanor. Excellent hosting abilities and tasteful presentation are essential attributes for this role. You are known for adopting a hands-on approach and pitching in wherever necessary to ensure smooth daily operations and impeccable household management. This role is much more than a traditional housekeeper position; it involves significant responsibilities managing staff, vendors, and the overall home environment. You will oversee two part-time housekeepers who work six to seven days a week during the season, ensuring their tasks align with household priorities. Vendor management is another key aspect of the role, requiring you to act as the primary point of contact for service providers and contractors. In addition to administrative and supervisory duties, personal tasks such as walking a wonderful dog, running errands, managing flower arrangements, gift buying, grocery shopping, and maintaining the social calendar are all part of the job. Entertaining is a frequent activity for the clients, and you will be involved in serving and bartending duties. Culinary skills are highly desirable; a candidate who enjoys cooking healthy meals four to five times a week and serving them will be favored. In cases where cooking is not a strength, the client will hire a part-time chef or cook, who you will then be responsible for managing. This highlights the broader managerial scope of the role, emphasizing leadership and effective coordination skills. Compensation for this position is competitive, with an hourly rate expected to range from $50 to $65. Along with the financial package, the client offers benefits including paid time off, sick days, a 401(k) retirement plan, and health insurance coverage. The anticipated start date for the role is mid-September 2026, allowing candidates ample time to prepare for a smooth transition into their new responsibilities. This role offers fulfillment beyond monetary reward, providing the chance to work in a refined, private household that values professionalism, discretion, and dedication. It is ideal for professionals experienced in luxury household management seeking a balanced and respected position in a beautiful desert location.
