Job Description
Mecha Noodle Bar is a vibrant restaurant renowned for delivering soulful interpretations of Southeast Asian comfort food in a fun, communal, and high-energy atmosphere. Dedicated to transforming taste and tradition into pride and progress, Mecha Noodle Bar creates a dining experience that is both memorable and deeply satisfying. This establishment thrives on its mission to provide an environment where tradition meets contemporary culinary creativity, serving guests exceptional dishes inspired by the rich flavors and cultural heritage of Southeast Asia. As a respected player in the restaurant industry, Mecha Noodle Bar values hospitality, teamwork, and guest satisfaction as the cornerstones of its operational philosophy.
The Busser/Runner position at Mecha Noodle Bar plays an essential role in embodying this vision of enlightened hospitality. The primary responsibility of the Busser/Runner is to support servers and bartenders in providing outstanding service to guests, ensuring each guest enjoys a memorable dining experience from start to finish. This role is indispensable in maintaining the flow of service, which involves a variety of tasks such as clearing dishes, glasses, and trash from tables, resetting and setting tables, and assisting with bringing fresh water to guests and refilling water glasses as necessary. Additionally, the Busser/Runner helps by running food to tables and bar and by assisting servers whenever needed.
This is a dynamic and fast-paced role that requires attentiveness, physical stamina, and a commitment to the restaurant's standards. The individual in this position supports the seamless operation of the front-of-house environment by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness before service begins. Duties also include helping with pre-open prep work, assisting in cleaning and closing procedures, restocking bar inventory and supplies, and reporting any equipment problems to management. Safety and sanitation are paramount, and the Busser/Runner is expected to follow all guidelines to maintain a safe workplace, including areas such as the dining room, kitchen, coolers, and stairs.
The position offers base pay ranging from $17 to $20 per hour, including tips, reflecting the company's appreciation for the contributions of its employees. Open availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required, emphasizing the team's commitment to flexibility and dedication. Prior restaurant experience is preferred, but not mandatory, as excellent customer service skills and a willingness to treat guests like family are highly valued. This role demands physical capability, with the ability to lift between 30 to 50 pounds being essential.
Working at Mecha Noodle Bar means being part of a collaborative team where individuals are encouraged to attend scheduled employee meetings, offer suggestions for improvement, and support one another to meet guests' needs effectively. This position also involves filling in for teammates when necessary to ensure consistent service standards and efficient operation. The Busser/Runner position is more than just a job; it is a vital part of a welcoming, energetic, and innovative dining environment that prides itself on community and quality. Potential candidates should expect a rewarding experience that fosters learning, growth, and a true connection to the art of Southeast Asian hospitality.
