Job Description

Red Lobster is a reputable and well-established seafood restaurant chain with over fifty years of history rooted in family values and a passion for delivering a special dining experience connected to the coast and seafood. Originating from a family-owned restaurant, Red Lobster has grown into a family of over 500 restaurants, each representing a commitment to quality food and warm hospitality. The company prides itself on being more than just a place to eat; it is a place where good friends become familiar faces and communities come together. Known for providing a welcoming environment and memorable meals, Red Lobster continues to be a cherished dining destination recognized for its dedication to service and community involvement.

The role at hand is for a Busser/Runner, a vital position within the restaurant team responsible for ensuring a clean, comfortable, and efficient dining environment. This is a full-time, hourly wage position, offering competitive pay starting from $16.90 up to $25.00 per hour, with weekly payments. Employees benefit from flexible scheduling to accommodate personal needs and work-life balance.

In this position, you will be the face of the restaurant, greeting guests warmly as they arrive, setting up your station properly for the shift, and ensuring that the table setting is complete with clean cutlery and condiments. Your role also involves refilling drinks, promptly clearing dishes and glassware, and delivering hot food from the kitchen to guests. By supporting servers with guest requests and maintaining strict adherence to food safety and cleanliness standards, you will help create a seamless dining experience. Tasks such as clearing and resetting tables, cleaning seating areas and floors, and effectively communicating table availability are fundamental to the busser/runner's duties.

The physical nature of the job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, squat, and safely lift up to 30 pounds, making physical stamina and attention to detail crucial. Red Lobster provides reasonable accommodations to those who require them so they can succeed in performing essential job functions. Employees are also eligible for a range of benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance starting at under $10 per week, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary benefits, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company contributions after one year of service. Additionally, meal discounts during shifts and as guests, anniversary pay upon meeting eligibility, and ongoing career development opportunities underline Red Lobster’s commitment to employee growth and satisfaction.

Red Lobster emphasizes equal opportunity employment, promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace for all employees regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status. With exciting plans for expansion and improvement, Red Lobster invites motivated and dedicated individuals to join their family and grow with them. A position as a busser/runner offers not only a competitive wage and flexible work environment but also a stepping stone into a hospitality career centered just as much on people as it is on food.
