Job Description

Red Lobster is a well-established, family-oriented seafood restaurant chain that has become synonymous with quality dining experiences centered around seafood and coastal cuisine. With over fifty years of history since its founding as a single family-owned restaurant, Red Lobster has grown into a network of more than 500 restaurants across the country, each proudly upholding the founding vision of delivering not just meals, but moments and connections to its guests. The company places a significant emphasis on community involvement and aims to foster a friendly environment where guests become familiar faces, creating a sense of belonging and warmth. At Red Lobster, employees are viewed as an integral part of this legacy and community, valued for their contributions and encouraged to grow within the company.

The position being offered is that of a Busser/Runner, which plays a vital role in the restaurant's smooth operation and exceptional customer service. Bussers and Runners are essential team members who ensure that guests feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment they enter the restaurant until their dining experience concludes. This role involves preparing the dining area by setting up stations and ensuring all necessary items, such as silverware and condiments, are properly in place. Responsibilities include attending to guests’ needs by refilling drinks, pre-bussing tables, and delivering hot food promptly when ready.

Beyond guest interaction, the Busser/Runner supports servers and the kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness and organization within the dining and dish areas, clearing and resetting tables, cleaning seats and floors, and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met throughout the shift. Effective communication with team members about table readiness and maintaining the overall ambiance of the dining space are crucial aspects of this role.

This position is designed for individuals who possess physical stamina, as it requires standing and moving throughout the restaurant for extended periods, as well as the ability to bend, lift up to 30 pounds safely, and engage in multitasking with attention to detail. Being a team player with a positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and willingness to adapt is essential for success in this role.

Red Lobster offers competitive wages with weekly pay and flexible scheduling to cater to its employees’ needs. The company also provides options for medical, dental, and vision insurance starting at an affordable rate of less than $10 per week. Additional benefits include life insurance, short-term disability, and voluntary benefits to ensure employees’ well-being. After one year of service, employees become eligible for the 401(k) retirement savings plan with a company match. Other perks include anniversary pay for eligible employees, discounted shift meals, and a 25% discount when dining as a guest. Red Lobster is deeply committed to career growth and development, providing comprehensive training and advancement opportunities for team members who are eager to build a career within the hospitality industry.

An inclusive and equal opportunity employer, Red Lobster welcomes diverse applicants and is dedicated to providing a respectful, discrimination-free workplace. The restaurant's future vision includes significant growth and continued excellence in both employee experience and guest satisfaction, making this an exciting opportunity for those seeking a stable yet dynamic work environment. Joining Red Lobster means becoming part of a family where your work contributes to memorable experiences and a thriving community atmosphere.
