This role of Busser within the Omni Hotel is crucial in maintaining the high standards the property is known for. The Busser is responsible for providing quick, efficient, and professional support to both the guests and the service team, ensuring the dining environment is spotless and welcoming. This part-time or full-time position demands dedication to maintaining cleanliness, setting up and bussing tables, replenishing supplies, and assisting servers to uphold smooth restaurant operations. The role requires attentiveness to detail, strong communication, and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. The Busser will support the service flow by clearing and resetting tables promptly, transporting food and beverages efficiently, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Wearing proper attire and name tags and maintaining a professional appearance is imperative to reflect the Omni brand image.

Candidates will be expected to work flexible shifts that may include weekends and holidays, corresponding with the needs of the hotel’s scheduling. The ability to multitask, remain physically active throughout the shift by standing and walking for long periods, and handle moderate weights safely is essential. The position contributes significantly to excellent guest experiences by supporting the front-of-house operations, allowing servers to focus on delivering customer service. The candidate will also participate in ongoing training sessions and staff meetings to stay informed on hotel procedures, safety protocols, and menu knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • Must have unexpired food handlers and TABC or obtain upon hire
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate with guests, members, management and co-workers
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Able to stand and walk for an extended period or entire shift
  • Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects of moderate weight without assistance
  • Willingness to work in various areas of the hotel including dining room, kitchen and resort property
  • Willingness to handle exposure to various cleaning chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • Must have unexpired food handlers and TABC or obtain upon hire

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Able to stand and walk for an extended period or entire shift
  • Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects of moderate weight without assistance
  • Experience working in a hotel dining room or restaurant kitchen is preferred
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Omni standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing the proper attire/uniform and name tag when working
  • Provide outstanding service to members and guests in a friendly and professional manner following proper steps of service
  • Wipe down all service trays with fresh sanitizer water daily
  • Bus tables
  • Stock supplies and maintain full ice supply for side stations
  • Put away product delivery items
  • Transport prepared food from kitchen to floor in a timely manner
  • Ensure expo food items are covered and dated and discard expired items
  • Set tables with clean, pressed linen, china, silver, and glassware
  • Ensure furniture and floors are clean and arranged according to specifications
  • Assist servers during operating hours to help meet business demands such as refilling guest drinks
  • Remove any extra settings
  • Inspect and clean coffee maker/urn, cappuccino machine, beverage machines, trays, dishware, silverware, glassware
  • Maintain full familiarity with menus and knowledge of beverage offerings
  • Always wear gloves when handling food
  • Maintain knowledge of the hotel property
  • Attend department meetings and other required training
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management
