Job Description
Yellowbelly and Lazy Tiger are two vibrant hospitality establishments located in the Central West End of St. Louis, Missouri. Yellowbelly is a locally owned restaurant known for its welcoming atmosphere and creative cocktail offerings, while Lazy Tiger is a connected cocktail bar that complements the dining experience. Both venues are part of an emerging restaurant group that emphasizes inclusivity, respect, and growth opportunities for their staff. The ownership team prioritizes creating a positive culture where employees are valued and supported, encouraging long-term career development within an independent, locally-owned business. Additionally, the group is expanding with a new restaurant, Extra Wavy, scheduled to open in Fall 2026.
Currently, Yellowbelly and Lazy Tiger are seeking reliable, hard-working individuals to fill a combined role as busser, barback, food runner, and server assistant primarily during night-time dinner hours. This multifaceted position is critical for supporting both front-of-house team members and bartenders, ensuring seamless service and an exceptional experience for guests. Responsibilities include assisting servers by filling water glasses, clearing and resetting tables, and running food to customers. The role also involves helping bartenders by washing and polishing glassware, filling ice bins, and preparing juice. Furthermore, the position requires active participation in maintaining overall cleanliness and organization within the bar and restaurant spaces.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, high-stress environments while maintaining a calm demeanor and a positive attitude. The establishments value employees who take pride in their work, have a strong work ethic, and foster a friendly and professional atmosphere. Night and weekend availability is essential due to operation hours, which include dinner service Tuesday through Saturday and Saturday brunch. The company welcomes new team members who are eager to start immediately and become part of a diverse and inclusive team that champions hospitality and mutual respect.
The employment type primarily suits part-time or full-time work during dinner shifts, with benefits including health insurance and other full benefits available to all full-time employees. In addition to competitive hourly wages averaging around $20 per hour—enhanced by participating in a shared tip pool—employees have ample chances for career development. Many team members transition from these support roles into serving and bartending positions, demonstrating the company’s commitment to internal growth and promoting from within.
Overall, working with Yellowbelly and Lazy Tiger offers a unique opportunity to be part of a young, innovative restaurant group with strong local roots. The supportive management team consists of knowledgeable, caring professionals who emphasize respect and teamwork. This position offers a rewarding work environment for those passionate about hospitality and eager to develop a lasting career in the food and beverage industry, all while engaged in a lively, inclusive community venue in one of St. Louis’s most exciting neighborhoods.
