The busser role involves active presence on the dining room floor during lunch service and at the polishing station during dinner hours. This position supports servers by cleaning up after guests promptly, resetting tables to a high standard, and handling re-plating under server direction. It is important to note that busser staff are distinct from server assistants; bussers do not interact directly with guests but focus entirely on maintaining cleanliness and readiness of the restaurant space. They are essential members of the support team, crucial for both guest experience and the efficiency of other front-of-house staff. The position requires a friendly demeanor, basic knowledge of customer service, and resilience to work in a fast-tempo environment while maintaining professionalism. Bussers must be able to sustain prolonged periods of standing or walking during shifts that can last between 8 to 10 hours.
