The Bus position at Beau Jo's Pizza is an hourly non-exempt role critical to the smooth operation of the dining area and customer satisfaction. The primary purpose of the Bus role is to ensure cleanliness throughout the restaurant and bar while responding to customer needs promptly and attentively. This position requires an energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong work ethic focused on teamwork and customer care. Responsibilities include clearing tables of dirty dishes and linens, wiping and resetting tables efficiently, and serving beverages such as water, coffee, and tea to guests. Additionally, the Bus person runs food from the expo line to dining areas, supporting service staff by keeping the dining environment clean and orderly at all times.

Beyond these essential duties, the Bus role involves various supporting tasks that contribute to the overall guest experience. This includes communicating specials and promptly addressing any guest concerns. Other duties assigned by management might consist of handling take-out linen, managing trash disposal, restocking supplies, monitoring the cleanliness of restrooms, washing glassware, refilling ice stations, and assisting other front-of-house staff as needed. The position demands significant physical activity, including walking and standing 100% of the time, reaching, bending, and stooping for 70% of the shift, and lifting or carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds multiple times during a shift. Additionally, the Bus person must safely use cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety regulations. Successful completion of training validations, including understanding and following hourly position materials, is required.
