Job Description

Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is a vibrant and rapidly growing restaurant chain known for its unique blend of Louisiana-style cuisine and a dynamic game-day atmosphere. Founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, by two LSU walk-on basketball players, the brand embodies the spirit of hard work, determination, and team collaboration. From its humble beginnings as a single restaurant, Walk-On's has expanded into a nationally recognized name that continues to prioritize its roots, emphasizing scratch-made dishes infused with Louisiana flavors and a welcoming, energetic environment where guests feel like they are part of the team. Each member of the Walk-On's family, from kitchen staff to managers, plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences, grounded in teamwork, hospitality, passion, growth, and community support.

The role of Busser at Walk-On's is part-time and non-exempt, reporting directly to the Manager on Duty, which makes it an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, high-energy environments and want to be part of a team-oriented workplace. Bussers act as the backbone of the dining room operations, ensuring that tables remain clean, orderly, and ready to provide a comfortable space for guests to enjoy their meals and the game-day excitement. In this role, bussers collaborate closely with servers and kitchen staff by clearing and resetting tables expediently, assisting with food and drink service, and ensuring that dining areas maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety.

The position demands a strong team-player mentality, a positive attitude, and the flexibility to assist wherever needed – whether that involves restocking supplies, running trash and recycling, or supporting servers in guest interactions. Candidates will also be expected to understand and comply with all health, safety, and alcohol service laws relevant to the multiple states where Walk-On’s operates, including Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. This comprehensive attention to compliance protects both guests and staff while maintaining the reputation of the brand. Walk-On's highlights the importance of on-the-job training, making previous restaurant experience beneficial but not mandatory, thus opening doors for energetic individuals eager to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.

Additionally, Walk-On's fosters a welcoming culture where employees are encouraged to take pride in the little details that create big impacts on guest satisfaction. This workplace culture is underpinned by core values that include teamwork, hospitality, passion, growth, and commitment to community. Employees in the busser role enjoy working in an environment that feels like a team sport, with flexible scheduling that accommodates students and those with other commitments. Walk-On's also offers clear pathways for advancement, where today's busser could become tomorrow's leader.

In this role, punctuality, uniform compliance, physical stamina, and a guest-focused approach are essential. Bussers must be at least 18 years old and capable of carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining an upbeat, adaptable, and service-oriented attitude throughout every shift. The combination of a high-energy environment, supportive management, and opportunities for growth makes this position ideal for individuals looking to build careers in the food service industry while enjoying a fun and engaging workplace atmosphere.
