Job Duties
- Meet or exceed pre-determined booking goals for guest room revenue
- meet or exceed budgeted costs and revenue on a monthly average within established guidelines
- handle inquiry calls promptly and efficiently
- compile lists of prospective clients from various sources
- solicit new and repeat guest room and meeting business
- maintain client base of key accounts and conventions
- determine guest needs, space availability, and meeting details
- show client meeting spaces and other areas of the hotel
- host clients to experience hotel outlets firsthand
- make outside sales calls minimum 4 hours daily three days a week
- telemarket to obtain business
- conduct site inspections and on-site luncheons to book business
- maintain liaison with regional competitors through contacts and associations
- monitor pricing, service levels, and facilities at competitive hotels
- evaluate potential business for profitability and benefit
- negotiate transient rates annually and ongoing
- upsell clients while promoting luxury service standards
- follow up on booking progress to ensure maximum occupancy
- meet personally with VIP guests and clients to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback
- generate thank you notes and promptly address negative client feedback
- follow up on bookings and solicit repeat business
- represent hotel in community and industry events
- participate in marketing plans, promotions, and services
- prepare weekly activity and expense reports
- adhere to budgeted wage and hour limitations
- attend departmental and interdepartmental meetings
- understand operating procedures of all hotel areas and cooperate for customer satisfaction
- route guest commendations appropriately
- notify management of shift related information
- manage special groups and VIP follow-ups
- follow supervisor instructions and complete assigned duties
