The Business Development Manager role at Pacific Seafood is a crucial position within the Processing Resource Sales department located in Clackamas. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum five to seven years of related experience and/or training
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
- Ability to work Monday–Friday during regular hours, occasional weekends
- Capability to maintain stationary position 80% of the time with intermittent walking, standing, bending, reaching, or crawling
- Ability to move and transport items up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable operating computers and office equipment
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to perceive visuals for data analysis and reading
- Willingness to comply with physical and environmental work conditions
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum five to seven years of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience as a department manager in sales or purchasing within food distribution or food service environment preferred
- Proficient in using order processing systems, Word, and Excel
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to operate independently and manage complex sales processes
Job Duties
- Generate leads and develop new customers through personal sales calls
- Initiate and control sales processes with new accounts and provide excellent follow-up
- Sell products at maximum profit margin with a sound understanding of competitors' position
- Service customers by providing accurate product and pricing information, writing orders, and following up on deliveries
- Provide guidance, assistance, and service to customers
- Negotiate contracts applying established company pricing standards
- Prepare quotes and complex bid responses
- Utilize order/pricing guides and support daily push and extra value items
- Create, maintain, and execute a successful territory sales plan
- Attend and actively participate in all sales meetings
- Monitor sales volumes, distribution margins, and related measurements
- Report variances with corrective actions
- Assist management in food distribution functions to ensure smooth operations
- Communicate and support administrative personnel in credit terms
- Understand and communicate company policies
- Drive growth across food service channels including restaurants, distributors, and other customers
- Expand commercial reach operating across multiple channels
- Prioritize strategic selling focusing on value creation and long-term account development
- Lead cross-functional alignment between sales, category management, and supply operations
- Operate autonomously navigating complex deals, supply challenges, and strategies
