We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team in Modesto, CA, as Bus Drivers. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay starting at $22.25 per hour, with progression up to $31.30 over two years, aligned with the union collective bargaining agreement. This role is key to ensuring that passengers are transported safely and comfortably while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service. Notably, no prior bus driving experience is necessary, as Transdev provides paid CDL training to qualified candidates who are eager to begin a rewarding career in public transportation. Prospective bus drivers must obtain a CDL Class B Permit with Passenger Endorsement before starting employment, reflecting our commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

As a Bus Driver at Transdev, your primary responsibility will be to operate transit buses on designated routes and schedules, adhering strictly to safety guidelines and traffic laws. You will play a vital role in passenger care, ensuring a pleasant experience by assisting passengers with boarding, providing a smooth ride, and facilitating timely disembarkation. The role also requires vigilant vehicle oversight, including conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and report maintenance needs, and maintaining cleanliness and readiness of safety equipment.

Beyond driving, bus drivers are expected to comply with all company policies, such as enforcing seat belt use, being prepared for emergencies, and following all regulatory mandates. The work environment involves exposure to varying weather conditions and requires physical stamina, such as the ability to sit for long periods, walk significant distances, and occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.
