The role of Bread Mixer at Nugget Markets is a unique and vital position within the bakery department, perfect for individuals passionate about artisan bread-making and eager to master the craft of producing handcrafted breads on a large scale. This full-time position features early morning shifts starting at 1:00 am, which is essential to ensure fresh, high-quality baked goods are available to customers throughout the day. The bread mixer plays a crucial role in preparing hundreds of hand-formed artisan breads each shift, encompassing a variety of tasks including mixing and scaling ingredients precisely, benching dough, and operating essential bakery machinery such as ovens, proofers, mixers, and dough dividers.

In addition to bread preparation, the bread mixer is responsible for supporting the bakery clerks and contributing to a clean, sanitary, and attractive kitchen environment. This role requires physical stamina and strength as mixers will be handling large quantities of dough, lifting products, and managing heavy flour bags. Furthermore, this position demands a solid understanding of bakery science, including knowledge of temperature control, chemical reactions that affect dough, and the characteristics of various bakery products.   • physical ability to mix hundreds of pounds of dough and form into loaves
  • ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • have intermediate product knowledge including knowledge of temperature, chemical reactions, and bakery products
  • basic understanding of the English language including ability to communicate and read basic instructions, schedules and signage
  • have a passion for putting out a great product consistently
  • a positive attitude is essential
