We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sourdough Bread Baker to join our dynamic team. As part of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing doughs, batters, starters, and other components essential to bread production. Your work will involve mixing, kneading, proofing, shaping, scoring, baking, and monitoring the quality of various bread products to ensure they meet our high standards for flavor, texture, and consistency. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining clean, sanitary workspaces in compliance with food safety guidelines are crucial aspects of this position.
The successful candidate will possess a practical knowledge of dough handling and fermentation, as well as familiarity with bakery equipment such as commercial ovens, mixers, and proofers. This role requires someone who can follow precise recipes and production schedules while meeting daily production goals. Physical stamina is also necessary, as the job involves standing for extended periods, lifting moderate weights, and performing repetitive tasks. Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts during busy seasons is important.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a baking or food preparation role is preferred
- Ability to work early mornings consistently

Job Qualifications

- Experience with artisan breads, sourdough, laminated doughs, or specialty baked goods is preferred
- Familiarity with commercial ovens, mixers, proofers, and other bakery equipment is an advantage
- Basic understanding of ingredient functions and dough development is a plus
- Creative interest in developing new bread varieties or improving existing recipes is desirable
Job Duties
- Prepare doughs, batters, starters, and other bread components according to established recipes and production schedules
- Mix, knead, proof, shape, score, and bake a variety of breads and related products
- Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and product quality to ensure consistent results
- Measure ingredients accurately and maintain proper portioning and quality standards
- Inspect finished products for appearance, texture, and doneness before display or distribution
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with food safety guidelines
- Store ingredients and finished products properly to preserve freshness and reduce waste
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and adjust to changing demand
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and equipment-use procedures
- Assist with inventory, restocking, and basic equipment cleaning and maintenance as needed
