The Box Office Manager role at AEG involves ensuring the efficient operation of the ticket office through effective training, event management, leadership, and daily oversight of box office functions. This position requires maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external promoters, artist representatives, venue management, and staff. The Box Office Manager will assist in administrative planning, policy implementation, and departmental direction to support successful event execution and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include managing the ticketing system from event setup through settlement, delegating tasks efficiently to staff, overseeing box office staffing and scheduling, and ensuring equipment and ticket sales accuracy. The role also includes liaising with artist management and production teams to coordinate ticketing needs, leading customer service efforts, resolving issues, preparing finance-related event reports, and conducting production meetings to finalize event layouts and ticket mapping.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $63,700 annually and is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4-6 years of related work experience
- Prior supervisory experience
- Previous experience in music industry and event planning
- Experience with ticketing systems
- Advanced knowledge of computerized ticket sales systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong math and detail orientation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (BA/BS degree preferred)
- 4-6 years of related work experience
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Previous experience in the music industry and event planning
- Experience with ticketing systems and basic database knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of computerized ticket sales, preferably Ticketmaster
- Strong math aptitude with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Moderate to complex problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Build and maintain promotional event ticketing system
- Manage seating inventory from event build through settlement with delegation to staff
- Manage box office staffing and scheduling
- Hire, train, and empower box office staff ensuring adherence to departmental guidelines
- Create events in ticketing software directly or via delegation, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up
- Ensure equipment functionality and verify correct ticket sales
- Update ticket and show information in internal software
- Maintain continuous communication between artist management and venue regarding ticket needs and sales
- Attend production promotion meetings and collaborate with booking department
- Lead staff in customer service policies, resolving customer issues and interfacing with other departments
- Prepare and provide event settlement reports and ticket count data to finance and relevant departments
- Conduct production meetings during event sales to review seating diagrams and event layout
