The Box Office Agent role is an essential frontline position within the Rail Events Productions team, specifically supporting the Rail Events Production division's Front of House department. As a seasonal, non-exempt hourly position offering a compensation rate of $20.00 per hour, this role reports directly to the Front of House and Business Manager. The Box Office Agent acts as the first point of contact for guests attending "Harry Potter14: A Hogwarts Express Adventure," serving as the customer service representative responsible for handling ticketing duties with efficiency, accuracy, and warmth.
The Box Office Agent is integral in setting the tone for the guests' experience from the moment they arrive, requiring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to assist a diverse range of visitors. This position involves confirming reservations, managing ticketing information using the Etix ticketing system (training provided), and ensuring patrons have the correct details for their travel date and time. Additionally, the Agent supports the general care of the ticketing area, maintains a clean and orderly environment, assists with preparing first-class amenities, and serves as a knowledgeable resource regarding the event's on-board experience and venue facilities.
The dynamic environment requires flexibility as the schedule may include evenings, weekends, overtime, and holidays. Physical demands include standing for long periods, navigating varying weather conditions, walking on uneven surfaces aboard the moving train, and operating within an active railroad yard. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an engaging, fast-paced production while advancing one's career within the performing arts and live event industries.
Being part of Rail Events Productions offers more than just employment; it provides a chance to serve others, immerse in a world of magic, and join a supportive team with high standards and inclusive values. Employees have the opportunity to grow professionally, build valuable industry connections, and make meaningful contributions to one of the most distinctive theatrical experiences available.
