Currently, Swissport is seeking an experienced Barista (21+) to join its team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced airport environment where delivering high-quality coffee and tea beverages is essential. The Barista will be responsible for operating commercial-grade espresso machines, preparing beverages with precision following established recipes, and engaging warmly with customers to uphold the hospitality standards Swissport is known for. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • previous experience as a barista or similar role in food or beverage industry required
  • strong knowledge of commercial barista equipment and coffee brewing techniques
  • good verbal and written English skills
  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • reliable transportation to and from work site needed
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance required
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment efficiently
  • physical capability to stand and perform various movements throughout entire shift
  • positive attitude and teamwork skills required
  • ability to pass federal background check
  • must have or be able to obtain food handler’s license and responsible beverage service license
  • availability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Baristas must be 21 years of age or older
  • previous experience as a barista or similar role within the food or beverage industry
  • strong knowledge of commercial grade barista and espresso machines
  • coffee brewing techniques and espresso preparation
  • good command of English language both verbal and written
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • reliable transportation to and from the airport
  • ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant setting
  • physically able to stand for 8-10 hour shifts involving walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching
  • positive attitude and willingness to cooperate with co-workers
  • ability to pass a 10 year federal background check
  • food handler’s license and responsible beverage service license or the ability to obtain
  • willingness to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet and engage customers with a smile in accordance with hospitality standards
  • prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages with precision following established recipes
  • operate espresso machines and other equipment safely and efficiently according to SOPs
  • maintain cleanliness of the workspace and surrounding areas
  • regularly clean barista machine and coffee equipment following procedure
  • provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and taking orders
  • restock and maintain par levels practicing FIFO rotation standards
  • buss and sanitize tables, wash dishes, and dispose of trash following SOPs
  • clean and wipe down surfaces maintaining high cleanliness levels
  • sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as needed or instructed
  • assist with deliveries, stock rotation, and inventory organization
  • bid passengers farewell and encourage their return
  • perform other duties as assigned
