Job Description
Allstate Corporation is a leading insurance company that has been committed to protecting families and their belongings from life’s uncertainties for over 90 years. Known for its innovative approach, Allstate has historically been at the forefront of advancing safety measures such as advocating for seat belts, airbags, and graduated driving laws. The company has also established leadership in pricing sophistication, telematics, and more recently, device and identity protection. Allstate’s dedication to innovation and customer service has made it a trusted name in the insurance industry, providing a range of products and services designed to meet the evolving needs of its customers. The company fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment where employees are encouraged to grow and challenge the status quo, shaping the future of protection while supporting important causes that resonate personally and professionally.
The role offered is a Represented Adjuster position focused on handling casualty claims primarily in California and other Southern West Coast states. This complex and severe claims adjuster role is designed for professionals specializing in investigating automobile accidents that involve multiple vehicles and result in property damage and bodily injury, often with attorney or litigation involvement. This position offers the flexibility of remote work from the candidate’s home, allowing for efficient management of claims while maintaining work-life balance. The individual will be responsible for assessing insurance coverage, determining liability, evaluating damages, and negotiating injury settlements fairly with all parties involved. Communication with customers and attorneys happens through multiple channels, including phone calls, emails, and texts, making strong interpersonal and negotiation skills essential. Candidates residing in the Pacific Time Zone are preferred, but those willing to work Pacific hours from Mountain and Central Time Zones are considered. However, the position is not available to residents of California, Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, or Puerto Rico.
This position emphasizes a broad skill set as the adjuster will wear multiple hats throughout the day. These include acting as a Customer Service Expert by embodying Allstate’s claims culture of caring and empowerment; Investigator by conducting independent, thorough evaluations of claims; Effective Communicator by using various communication tools to guide customers through fair claims processes; Negotiator by skillfully settling claims with multiple stakeholders using strategic negotiation tactics; Problem Solver by utilizing digital tools for fast and accurate claim resolutions; and Recorder by maintaining thorough and timely documentation of each claim to protect the company financially. Offering competitive pay ranging from $53,500 to $84,625 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, the role also provides a robust total rewards package from day one, including healthcare, retirement plans, education reimbursement, and time off policies designed to support personal and professional growth. Allstate ensures employees receive initial and ongoing training to become proficient in their roles and offers comprehensive technology setups to support remote work, including equipment and monthly internet reimbursements. This role ultimately provides an opportunity to join a winning team focused on making a meaningful impact while advancing one's skills and career.
