The role of BioMed Field Service Engineer II in Sacramento, California represents an exciting opportunity to join Draeger’s dynamic field service team. This is a permanent, field-based position requiring residency within the Sacramento territory. The selected candidate will be provided a company vehicle with personal use privileges, reflecting the mobility essential to this role. Serving as a critical liaison between Draeger and its customers, this position involves the installation, maintenance, recall, and repair of a broad range of biomedical devices and technologies. These tasks are carried out mainly independently, with minimal oversight, requiring a high level of technical expertise, professionalism, and accountability.

The Field Service Engineer II is expected to drive customer satisfaction through skillful and timely service execution, consistent achievement of key performance metrics, and effective communication with healthcare facilities and other stakeholders. You will utilize a variety of diagnostic tools and company systems to ensure efficient order management while maintaining rigorous adherence to company procedures regarding asset management, including technical equipment and company vehicles. In addition to supporting your territory, you will occasionally provide field support to adjacent team members to ensure business continuity and customer service excellence. This role demands flexibility in work hours, including the ability to work nonstandard hours and travel to various customer sites within the designated area.

Job Requirements

  • Associates in electronics or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in biomedical or electronic field service
  • Must have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be available to work non-standard hours
  • Experience working independently while reaching assigned goals
  • Strong customer communication skills
  • Able to review service history and device log data to achieve repairs
  • Able to interpret technical documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other business systems
  • Works independently and manages multiple priorities

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Performs preventative maintenance and recall service for all models within the territory
  • Diagnoses, evaluates, calibrates, and repairs nonfunctioning devices to OEM standards for assigned models
  • Installs new medical devices, demo units and loaners per OEM standards independently
  • Leverages available technology to manage service orders, access customer and equipment information, accurately document completed service work promptly, and utilize technical documentation and diagnostic tools
  • Consistently achieves assigned KPIs while adhering to all operational procedures and work instructions
  • Maintains full compliance with Field Service Engineer requirements including completing required training and managing calibrated test equipment
  • Maintains accountability for assigned company assets including vehicle, inventory, and test equipment
  • Works at varying locations and travel as required including nonstandard business hours
  • Occasionally responsible for up-skilling new team members
