At the Mount Pleasant plasma donation center in Wisconsin, BioLife is inviting applications for the role of Medical Support Specialist - also known as Plasma Center Nurse. This is a full-time, non-exempt employee position offering an hourly wage range between $25.60 and $35.20, dependent on qualifications, experience, and location-specific factors. This role is critical in supporting plasma center operations, focusing on donor health and eligibility, regulatory compliance, and medical support. The Medical Support Specialist reports directly to the Plasma Center Manager and collaborates closely with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs team to ensure both donor safety and regulatory adherence. Job responsibilities include determining donor eligibility through comprehensive medical history reviews, physical examinations, and blood testing, along with managing donor adverse events and emergencies per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role also encompasses reviewing laboratory test results and communicating any unsuitable test findings to donors. The Medical Support Specialist is expected to be well-versed in plasma collection regulations, environmental health and safety standards, and current public health protocols, including participation in vaccination programs and pandemic coordination efforts. This position requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and an empathetic approach to donor care.
