Job Description
This job opportunity is with a large, well-established food production facility located in Kent, WA, specializing in ready-to-eat salads, dips, and veggie trays. The company has a strong commitment to quality and sustainability, partnering with family farmers across the country to ensure their products are fresh and wholesome. Known for its collaborative work culture and clean, refrigerated environment, this workplace emphasizes employee well-being and food safety. Employees benefit from a stable, fast-paced production setting that offers consistent schedules and overtime opportunities. The company fosters growth within its team and is seeking a bilingual Production Lead who is fluent in both English and Portuguese. This temp-to-hire position offers a starting pay rate of $24 per hour, with the potential for permanent employment and associated benefits.
As a bilingual Production Lead, the hired individual will play a critical role in overseeing daily production line activities to ensure efficiency and adherence to safety and quality standards. The Production Lead will be responsible for setting up the production line, maintaining the sanitation of equipment and workspace throughout shifts, and training and mentoring team members to uphold high performance standards. The role involves hands-on participation in food preparation, monitoring productivity and quality metrics, and guaranteeing that all line operations comply with strict food safety regulations. The production environment is refrigerated, with temperatures ranging from 34 to 37 degrees Fahrenheit, requiring employees to work comfortably in cold conditions. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Typical shifts begin at 6 am and last until production goals are met, including mandatory daily overtime and weekend work. Employees also enjoy access to an employee food program where they can purchase overstock food items at a minimal donation.
This position is ideal for individuals with prior food production experience who have developed leadership skills in similar environments and enjoy working in dynamic, team-driven settings. The company values bilingual abilities for this role to facilitate clear communication and adherence to written procedures available in both English and Portuguese. As a member of the team, the Production Lead will be instrumental in maintaining operational efficiency while fostering a positive and cooperative workspace. The temp-to-hire nature of this job provides an excellent pathway for long-term employment and career development within a reputable food production company committed to quality and community-centered values.
