Sherwin-Williams is currently seeking a dedicated Customer Service Specialist to join their team on a full-time basis. The position is located within a 15-mile radius of Store #3194 at 155 E. Sunset Drive, Waukesha, WI 53189, offering a starting pay of $19.30 per hour or higher based on relevant experience. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about customer service and sales, particularly within the paint and coatings industry.

The Customer Service Specialist plays a critical role in delivering outstanding customer experiences by assisting wholesale and retail customers in selecting the right Sherwin-Williams products. The specialist is responsible for understanding customer needs, answering product-related questions, and recommending appropriate solutions. They are also charged with maintaining product and store quality standards, including visual merchandising and the upkeep of store equipment and displays. In addition, they are expected to meet sales goals by promoting various paints and coatings effectively.

This role involves direct interaction with customers, which may include minors, and requires handling cash, electronic payments, and sensitive personal information. As such, Sherwin-Williams performs criminal history reviews to safeguard the company, employees, customers, and community.

As a Customer Service Specialist, candidates will engage in various responsibilities such as assisting customers in person and over the phone, processing sales transactions, maintaining inventory control, tinting and mixing paint products according to specifications, setting up product displays, and helping with deliveries if needed. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
  • Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on your most recent performance appraisal
  • If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position

Job Qualifications

  • Have at least a High School diploma or GED
  • Have at least one year of experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer service position
  • Have previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
  • Have previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment

Job Duties

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services
  • Build productive trust relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Process sales transactions accurately and consistent with policies and procedures
  • Follow and achieve sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
  • Maintain precise work order files and formulas
  • Pull appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse
  • Tint and mix products, as needed, to customer specifications
  • Stock shelves and set up displays
  • Clean store equipment
  • Load/unload delivery trucks
  • Assist in making deliveries, as needed
  • Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas
  • Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
  • Comply with inventory control procedures
  • Suggest ways to improve sales
