Duluth Trading Company, founded in 1989, is a distinguished and innovative retailer known for designing durable workwear and outdoor gear that enable hardworking individuals to tackle life's challenges with confidence and ingenuity. The company thrives on the philosophy of doing things the hard way but always seeking a better, more efficient path. Their product line includes not only rugged Duluth workwear but also Buck Naked Underwear and outside-embracing AKHG, all crafted to support an active and hands-on lifestyle. Duluth Trading Company emphasizes top-quality products, compelling storytelling, exceptional customer service, and a shared belief in the relentless spirit of those who go all-in and dig deep to get the job done. With a digital-first mindset and a commitment to innovation, Duluth Trading Company aims to build a workforce that is as passionate about progress and innovation as it is about tradition and craftsmanship. The company is also recognized for fostering a community-oriented workplace and providing comprehensive benefits to support employee well-being and success.
The Big Dam Van Event Coordinator position is a unique, traveling temporary special assignment designed to bring the Duluth brand to life through an experiential tour that engages consumers at multiple locations nationwide. This role places you at the forefront of Duluth's outreach, acting as the brand ambassador and the face of the tour—responsible for the full cycle of event coordination, from logistics and planning to execution and social media content creation. You will have the autonomy to manage your schedule and responsibilities while navigating the country in the Big Dam Van, setting up event activations that create memorable and positive brand experiences for consumers and retail partners alike.
As an Event Coordinator, your tasks include advance planning such as booking and permitting venues, and maintaining strong communication with event hosts. On the road, you will drive the Big Dam Van to each event, taking full ownership of the on-site setup and live event management. Your role is dynamic; from operational management of the vehicle and event materials to content creation across social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Meta, you carry the responsibility of keeping the tour engaging and visible. You will coordinate with local retailers and regional representatives to ensure the smooth execution of each event, meet performance goals, and regularly report event outcomes to Duluth headquarters.
This position requires a highly organized individual with strong time management skills, an outgoing personality, and a passion for social media. A successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, be adaptable to irregular schedules including major holidays, and be prepared to endure the physical demands of the job such as lifting heavy equipment, standing for extended periods, and handling various weather conditions.
Compensation for this temporary role ranges from $2,000 to $2,700 per pay period, with all travel, meals, and lodging expenses provided according to company policy. The assignment runs from May through December 2026, with the possibility of early conclusion or extension depending on business needs and tour performance. Upon completion, employees will transition back to their previous roles and compensation. Duluth Trading Company also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support their Dam Good Crew, reflecting their commitment to their people as well as their products.
